Ceramic and composite

Smile makeover

Where a smile makeover calls for more than veneers, the plan can bring in teeth whitening, crowns or orthodontic treatment, sequenced so that each step is reviewed before the next.

Veneers may suit adults with healthy teeth and gums who would like to change the shape, colour or alignment of their front teeth.

They are not always the right first step. Where whitening, bonding or orthodontic treatment would address the concern with less change to the teeth, the dentist will say so at your examination.

The first appointment is an examination. Your teeth, gums and bite are assessed, and photographs and X-rays are taken where they are needed.

If veneers are suitable, the dentist plans the design with you and sets out the number of appointments, the preparation involved and the risks. Work begins only once you have agreed to the plan.
