Botox and anti-wrinkle injections

Overview

Anti-wrinkle injections, commonly known as Botox, relax the muscles that cause expression lines. At Emerald Avenue Medical Clinic they are given by a practitioner working from facial anatomy, after an assessment of how your face moves.

Areas treated

Treatment is most often used for frown lines between the brows, forehead lines and the lines around the eyes. The clinic also offers facial slimming and lifting techniques, including treatment of the masseter muscles where masseter bulk and facial width are a concern.

A measured approach

The dose is planned to the movement pattern of your own face, with the aim of softening lines while keeping natural expression. A follow-up appointment can be arranged so the practitioner can review the treatment and carry out a retouch where it is needed.

Botox in a package

Anti-wrinkle injections for three areas are included in the Glassy Skin package, with a Hydrafacial and Salmon DNA, for AED 1,800, and in the Glow Skin package, with a Hydrafacial and a Jalupro skin booster, for AED 1,500. They can also be added to the 3-in-1 Deluxe skin treatment: three areas for AED 300, or full face for AED 500.

Who it is for

Anti-wrinkle injections may suit adults with expression lines, such as frown lines, forehead lines or lines around the eyes, who would like a non-surgical treatment.

They are not suitable for everyone, including during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The practitioner will ask about your health, medication and any previous treatment before recommending them.

What to expect

The first appointment is a consultation. The practitioner examines your face at rest and in movement, agrees the areas to treat with you, and explains what the treatment involves, including its risks, such as temporary bruising or swelling at the injection sites.

Where treatment is carried out on the same day, that is agreed with you first. Please tell the practitioner about any previous injectable treatment and any medication you take. Individual results vary.
